Design services for Increase production capacity of Benzoic Acid Unit

The project goal is the increasing of the capacity and the purity of benzoic acid produced in the existing plant and recovery the secondary products such as benzyl alcohol and benzaldehyde. LUDAN has been performed multidisciplinary engineering: technology / 3D modelling / piping / mechanical / civil and structure / electrical / instrumentation / process control.

New chimney and auxiliaries

Project objective was the implementation a new chimney for exhaust gases, resulted from the production of ultramarine pigments. LUDAN was contracted for EPCM services: permitting, design, procurement, construction management.

Increasing the Production line capacity

Project Objectives:

SANO Bruno’s Enterprises owns a new industrial storage building in Romania. The construction consists of: hall, offices, loading ramps and accesses. 

Scope of work

  • Design works – update the P&ID for the unit; Update the general lay-out according to the extension; Design for steel structure extension; Design for piping connection.
  • Civil works – prefabrication of the extension of the steel structure, necessary for access around the vessel.
  • Demolition works for the retention pit – one side, performed in order to increase the area of the pit according to the new arrangement.
  • Reconstruction of the wall of the extended pit.
  • Installation of the new steel structure.
  • Unloading the vessel from the truck and installation on the final position.
  • New pump and Agitator installation on the top of the vessel.
  • Piping and electrical materials procurement & installation.

Waste water treatment plant upgrade

Project Objectives

VIROMET S.A. upgraded its old waste water treatment plant and turn into a modern one, fully compliant with all EU and local Environmental regulations under an EPC contract.

LUDAN executed the implementation of a complete biological treatment system using state of art ADVENT technology.

Liquid fertilizer terminal with loading – unloading facilities

Project Objectives:

Azomures decided to improve the export capacity of the company, in this respect planned a terminal of 20,000 m³ liquid fertilizers, 2×10,000 m³ tanks, railway unloading and vessel loading facilities, automation and fiscal measurements.

Ammonium nitrate and calcium ammonium nitrate multiflattening plant

Project Objectives:

Azomures as part of it’s modernization program upgraded the Ammonium nitrate and calcium ammonium nitrate multiflattening units, especially by rehabilitation of the existing buildings, dismantling and demolition of the obsolete equipment, design and procurement of new equipment, new instrumentation and control for the above plants.

Hydrogenation Unit of C4 fraction

Scope: In the manufacturing of butadiene rubber (SBR) via 1,3 Butadiene-Styrene polymerization, C4 fraction is used as raw material. The C4 fraction contains acetylenes which cannot be separated in the solvent extraction phase. Therefore, selective hydrogenation of acetylenes is required.

In order to increase the butadiene recovery process efficiency, the company awarded to LUDAN the project to develop a new installation based on UOP technology.
